A kitchen should of course always be designed to take into account how the homeowners live and use the space and also the architecture of the property but the kitchen island has become one of those timeless designs that, instead of becoming outdated, has gained more popularity as time goes by and it is easy to see why.

The homeowners sought to transform their space, with the addition of a new extension to their
property. The new space was to include concertina doors opening up to provide a direct link to their
garden. With the kitchen playing a central role in that vision. Their concept was clear: a kitchen that
effortlessly merges traditional elegance with the serene beauty of the outdoors. As part of a broader
renovation, they requested a design that not only serves as a functional hub but also seamlessly
connects to the outdoor seating area. The result? A bespoke Stoneham kitchen from the Edwardian
range, showcasing a refined painted finish and a thoughtfully curated combination of materials and
appliances. This design brings their vision to life.
The Challenge
In this open-plan setting, the kitchen and outdoor living area needed to seamlessly connect, creating
a harmonious flow between the two.
The design had to blend traditional style with modern convenience and luxury, offering ample space
for cooking, entertaining, and relaxation.
The Edwardian Shaker-style kitchen finished in Dove Grey
provided a warm shaker-style kitchen with a contemporary feel. Complemented by the island,finished in Hague Blue.
The challenge was to achieve the perfect balance, ensuring each area functioned efficiently while
maintaining a cohesive, visually stunning aesthetic.
The Solution
To bring our clients dream kitchen to life, we crafted a timeless yet contemporary design that exudes both elegance and functionality.
A striking focal point is the expansive island, elegantly finished in rich Hague Blue, complemented by
a large bespoke dresser and console table in the same refined hue, seamlessly unifying the space.
The traditional charm of the double Belfast sink beautifully enhances the overall aesthetic, while the
Quooker Flex boiling tap in a polished chrome finish provides the perfect balance of traditional design and modern convenience.
Design & Planning
The design and planning process for this kitchen involved close collaboration with the clients to
ensure every detail aligned with their vision.
From the outset, we focused on understanding their lifestyle and how the space would be used.
One of the standout features of the design is the thoughtful use of two complementary colours. By
selecting the same shade for the dresser and console table as the island, we created a harmonious
flow throughout the space, reinforcing the bespoke nature of the design.
The careful balance of these colours, along with the integration of functional elements including
beautiful solid oak drawers and integrated trays ensures a kitchen that is both visually stunning and practical for everyday use.
Appliances
Practicality was a central consideration in the design, ensuring every appliance enhances the kitchen's efficiency while maintaining its luxurious appeal.
Equipped with the latest technology, the two Neff Slide & Hide pyrolytic ovens offer effortless cleaning, freeing up valuable time for the family.
While the induction hob and extractor integrate flawlessly into the kitchen's bespoke canopy feature,
offering a perfect blend of style and functionality, ideal for a busy family lifestyle.
Now, the family enjoys a thoughtfully designed kitchen that harmonises beautifully with their
exquisitely remodelled home, providing a sophisticated yet welcoming space for both family gatherings and entertaining guests.
Worktops
Caesarstone Empira White Quartz, was chosen for the worktops. Its exquisite veining beautifully complements the kitchen's traditional design while providing exceptional durability and practicality.
Meticulously crafted in our Five Oaks workshops, the surfaces radiate timeless elegance and refined sophistication.
To create a seamless flow Empira White was also used for the splashbacks and window sill, enhancing the space with a cohesive and balanced aesthetic.
This thoughtful integration elevates the overall design, ensuring every element works in harmony without overwhelming the kitchen's luxurious ambience.
The Final Result
The finished design perfectly fulfils the brief, with the kitchen seamlessly flowing into the outside seating area. Creating a space that is both functional and visually striking.
The combination of premium materials, thoughtful layout, and integrated appliances results in a kitchen that not only looks stunning but also enhances the homeowner's lifestyle by blending performance with style.
The use of smooth painted finishes, contrasting colours, and rich Oak details ensures that the kitchen is a beautiful and practical part of the open-plan living space.
