A kitchen should of course always be designed to take into account how the homeowners live and use the space and also the architecture of the property but the kitchen island has become one of those timeless designs that, instead of becoming outdated, has gained more popularity as time goes by and it is easy to see why.

The Challenge
The challenge was to design a striking kitchen that seamlessly blended timeless elegance with the practicality of modern living.
A key consideration for our client was the inclusion of a bespoke larder, complete with a bookshelf on the side.
As all our kitchens are tailored and made to order, we were able to easily accommodate this request, incorporating the bookshelf as a stylish and functional addition to the space.
The result is a kitchen that balances both sophisticated design and thoughtful practicality.
The Solution
To bring this vision to life, we selected Stoneham’s Cudham Oak, finished in Farrow & Ball Pitch No. 256, allowing the natural grain of the wood to beautifully emerge through the deep, rich paint.
The traditional Shaker-style cabinets offer classic charm, while the bold Pitch Black finish creates a striking contrast, infusing the space with sophistication and drama.
To maintain an airy feel, we incorporated glass-fronted cabinets and white worktops, ensuring the room remains light and open.
This combination of materials and finishes strikes the perfect balance between timeless elegance and modern flair.
Design & Planning
In addition to the main cabinetry, the room features a carefully curated selection of bespoke elements, each contributing to the overall grandeur of the design.
Extra-wide 1200mm drawers have been incorporated into the hob area, complemented by meticulously crafted 100mm columns and pilasters throughout the space, enhancing the room’s sense of scale and elegance.
Bespoke feature plinths and cornices further elevate the design.
A handmade canopy was also created to seamlessly conceal the extractor hood, maintaining the traditional aesthetic.
Finally, innovative plinth vents were integrated into the design, with the vents expertly routed into the plinths themselves, eliminating the need for visible metal vents and preserving the room's clean, refined look.
Appliances
The kitchen also showcases a combination of the latest Siemens and Neff appliances.
A bespoke unit was made to house a Siemens Larder fridge, a separate frost free freezer and a stunning full height, humidity and twin zone temperature controlled wine cooler.
Our client also chose the iconic Neff Pyrolytic Slide and Hide Oven that features Therm® hot air technology, focussing heat directly on the food being cooked, so the surfaces of bakes and roasts are sealed quickly. Sealing in moisture making meats juicier and cakes delicious and moist.

All appliances can be controlled via voice or app.
Worktops
The marble-inspired Caesarstone Empira White quartz worktops, paired with a full-height splashback, create a striking contrast while maintaining a sense of lightness and modernity in the room.
This stunning choice offers the perfect fusion of traditional elegance and the durability of quartz.
